Welsh gymnasts showcased their exceptional talent and determination at the British Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Grades Finals, held at the start of November. Competing across the Bob Currier and Paul Blakebrough pathways, the athletes achieved remarkable results, earning medals and accolades while exemplifying sportsmanship and dedication.
Bob Currier Pathway Success
Welsh gymnasts excelled in the Bob Currier pathway, achieving podium finishes and earning invitations to the prestigious British Gymnastics Reward Camp this December. Highlights include:
- Adam Bartlett (Swansea Gymnastics Club) – 1st place in Level 2.
- Levi Scott (Barry YMCA) – 2nd place in Level 4.
- Isaac Price (Wrexham Gymnastics Club) – 3rd place in Level 3.
- Jude Jones (Swansea Gymnastics Club) – 4th place in Level 1.
In addition to their individual achievements, the Bob Currier Level 1 Team delivered an impressive performance, earning 2nd place in the team competition. The team comprised:
- Jude Jones
- Spencer Payne
- Carwyn Hughes
- Cavell Griffin
- Ryan Dando
The outstanding results in this pathway earned the four individual medallists—Adam Bartlett, Levi Scott, Isaac Price, and Jude Jones—an invitation to the Reward Camp, where they will train under National Coaches to further hone their skills.
Paul Blakebrough Pathway Highlights
Competing in the Paul Blakebrough pathway, Ahmed Mirghany delivered a strong performance, finishing 7th place in the Level 2 competition.
The weekend was a testament to the hard work and dedication of Welsh gymnasts, their coaches, and their clubs. From podium finishes to invitations to elite training camps, the event highlighted the bright future of men’s artistic gymnastics in Wales.
