Last weekend saw our Welsh tumblers take to the track in Telford for the second British qualifier – Spring Cup 2 – in the hope of qualifying for National Age Group Finals being held in Birmingham at the end of next month.
It was a very good competition for all with Lily Jenkins (Deeside) and Shannon Ross (CSOG) both making finals in the Women’s 17-21 category, finishing sixth and eighth respectively.
In the women’s senior category, Welsh tumbler Megan Surman (City of Birmingham) competed a new routine with a full in back out in the straight shape as a transition with whips to a double pike to bag herself a bronze medal in the final.
Well done to all involved.
Full results can be viewed here and are also available via the BG Score App – where routines from the weekend can also be watched back.
Wales also had a number of volunteers at the event and, without them, events like these would not be possible.
Megan, meanwhile, is now in the final preparations for the upcoming 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling & DMT European Championships taking place in Rimini, Italy from 1-5 June, where she will represent Great Britain in the senior women’s section.
We wish Megan and her GB teammates the very best of luck for the upcoming Europeans.
