Georgia-Mae Fenton led off with a solid Yurchenko 1 1/2 twist, earning a score of 13.833 despite a small hop on landing, her routine set a positive tone for the team. Abigail Martin, even with a shaky warm-up, safely executed a Yurchenko double twist to score 13.766. Alice Kinsella followed with another strong Yurchenko double twist, posting an impressive 13.933. But it was Wales’ Ruby Evans, that was the true star of the rotation. Competing her Amanar successfully for the first time, she became the first GB gymnast to ever land an Amanar in competition. Despite taking a big step forward and stepping out of bounds, her confident performance earned a huge score of 14.2. These solid performances resulted in a vault total of 41.966 for Team GB.

Moving to the uneven bars, the team faced some challenges. Ruby Evans began the rotation with a solid routine but unfortunately fell on her dismount, her hands reaching for the mat before her feet, she scored 11.2. Georgia-Mae Fenton delivered a secure routine with a deep squat and a few big steps on landing, earning 12.833. Alice Kinsella started confidently but lost momentum on her pirouette and additionally fell on her landing, scoring an uncharacteristic 11.9. However, Becky Downie showcased her experience with a spectacular routine, scoring a huge 14.666, which was crucial for the team’s total of 39.399 on bars.

On the balance beam, Team GB delivered consistently strong routines. Ruby Evans opened with a solid set, showing her class and resilience after a shaky bars rotation. She scored 12.6, a great lead off routine that helped to settle her team’s nerves. Georgia-Mae Fenton followed with another stuck routine, earning 13.5. Becky Downie continued the streak with a clean routine, scoring 13.4. Alice Kinsella concluded with a beautiful, stuck routine, earning 13.433. The team amassed a total of 40.333 on beam, moving cleanly through their third rotation.

In the final rotation on floor exercise, Georgia-Mae Fenton was up first, scoring 12.466 despite two out-of-bounds steps. Ruby Evans performed an amazing routine, scoring 12.833 initially. After an inquiry into her difficulty score, her final score was adjusted to 13.133. Evans’ exceptional performance on the floor highlighted her as a standout gymnast and a vital part of Team GB’s success. Abigail Martin debuted a new routine with excellent execution and high difficulty, earning 13.266. Alice Kinsella finished strong with a routine that scored 12.733. The team’s performances on the floor brought their final qualification total to 160.83.
