The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games are set to make history with the release of the full medal event programme. The event, which will take place between 23 July and 2 August 2026, marks Scotland’s fourth time hosting the prestigious multi-sport competition.
The Games will be staged across four key venues within an 8-mile radius in Glasgow, promising an exciting and accessible experience for athletes and spectators alike. A total of 200 gold medals will be awarded over 10 days of competition, with nearly 3,000 athletes representing 74 nations.
Glasgow 2026 has confirmed that the medal programme will feature over 80 events across ten sports. Sporting action will take place at the Commonwealth Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Scottish Exhibition Centre (SEC), Scotstoun Stadium, Tollcross International Swimming Centre, and the Emirates Arena, which will host Artistic Gymnastics.

Artistic Gymnastics will feature both team and all-around events in both Men’s and Women’s Artistic competitions, as well as all the usual individual apparatus finals. The inclusion of these events further enhances the diversity and excitement of the Games, providing athletes with additional opportunities to compete at the highest level.

‘We are excited by the recent announcement confirming the Medal Event Programme for Artistic Gymnastics at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with 14 medals on offer. This is a significant milestone for our athletes and coaches as we work towards Glasgow.’
One of the most exciting elements of Glasgow 2026 is the record number of para sport events. There will be 46 para medal events across six sports: Para-Athletics, Para-Swimming, Para-Cycling Track, Para-Powerlifting, 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball, and Para-Bowls.

The Games, which have a projected cost of approximately £114 million, are being funded through a combination of Commonwealth Games Federation investment, commercial revenue, and sponsorship, without requiring public funding from the UK or Scottish governments.
With an ambitious and inclusive sporting schedule, Glasgow 2026 is set to be a world-class celebration of sport, unity, and athletic excellence.
