Welsh Gymnastics is dedicated to keeping all our members safe. As part of this commitment, we require everyone in an official role to hold a valid safeguarding certificate. To make this more accessible, we are offering our Safeguarding and Protecting Children course, as well as the Time to Listen course, free of charge to all members. In doing this we hope that this will relieve some of the pressure off clubs and help keep our sport safe for all.

Notes:

  • Any no shows will be charged full course price of £35
  • Your place is not confirmed until you complete your entry
  • Once you turn 18, you must complete a full Safeguarding and Protecting Children award

Pre-Requisites:

  • This course can only be attended by 16 and 17 year olds.

This online classroom, developed in partnership with the Child Protection Sport Unit (CPSU) of the NSPCC, has been created specifically for coaches aged 16 to 17 years old.

The course is created by specialists in child welfare and is written and delivered with the safety of the young coach in mind throughout. It covers all the appropriate content to support younger coaches to recognise safeguarding and child protection best practice as an important part of your great coaching journey.

As a young leader or assistant coach, you will discover how to report any concerns you may have, and who you can report your concerns to. Safeguarding your own welfare as a coach is just as important, so this online classroom will also provide information on who you can talk to and get support from.

Pre-Requisites:

– This course is for young people aged 16-17 only.

Notes:

– Please be mindful that spaces are allocated upon payment, your booking is NOT confirmed until payment has been made.
