Last weekend marked the last national competition of the year for some of our women’s artistic gymnasts and they marked it in style.

There were 11 Welsh clubs representing Wales as a Region at the 2022 Women’s Artistic Classic Challenge Championships in Guildford.

The gymnasts were competing across Bronze (10-13 years), Silver (13-15 years) and Gold (16+) levels in what were two fantastic action-packed days at the Surrey Sports Complex.

Both Gold & Silver teams took home team gold with Bronze category coming away with a fourth place.

These results also secured the overall team title for Wales which saw them bag the Bill McLoughlin Trophy – awarded for the combined highest scoring Region across all apparatus from each level.

Among the standout individual performers were Freya Evans of Llanelli Gymnastics Club who was third all-around in the Gold category.

In the Silver section, it was a brilliant one-two for Capital Academy with Zoe Robinson grabbing all-around gold from Ava-Lexi Placide, who secured silver.

Full results are available HERE as well as on the BG Score App – where all of the gymnasts’ routines from over the weekend can also be watched back.

Meanwhile our British Aspire Squad gymnasts had their last camp of the year at Lilleshall, with lots of festive fun.

Well done to all on the WAG programme in 2022.
